The Kozak lab studies the genomic architecture underlying mating behavior to understand how new mate preferences evolve and lead to speciation. The lab uses a combination of behavioral experiments, field collection, and bioinformatic approaches. Current projects in the lab involve genetic basis for courtship divergence and preference in moths and epigenetic basis for paternally-induced changes in mating behavior in stickleback fish.
